University Heights Redevelopment
We have received the following information from Wesbild:
“We are pleased to provide you with an update on Wesbild's redevelopment proposal for University Heights Shopping Centre. Since our community open house in December of last year, we’ve been working with District staff and our anchor tenant, Home Depot, to finalize our application based on stakeholder input and are now moving forward to the next step in the rezoning and approval process – Council Introduction. While there is some uncertainty surrounding timing as a result of the pandemic, we are both excited and hopeful to be able to introduce the project to Council this summer.”
The developer has prepared a detailed plan of the proposal that can be accessed by the following link”
You can see more from the GHRA on this proposal. Here
On August 24 Saanich Council sent this proposal to a Public hearing with some elements to be clarified before the hearing. These are realted to Boulevard trees on Mt. Douglas Road, outlets for electrical vehicles and the proposed child care area.
We will keep our residents informed of any changes to the proposal and of the dates of the Public Hearing.
